Are You Legal?

 

These are the legal requirements for the paperwork and equipment for a pilot to operate an airplane in Canada. This varies depending on the category of airplane.

 

THE PILOT

1. Pilot Licence or Permit
2. Valid Medical Certificate.
3. Radiotelephone Operators Certificate (if aircraft is equipped with a two-way radio)
4. Pilot recency requirements met (every two years)
5. Helmet (Basic Ultralight Aeroplanes only)
6. Pilot logbooks are required to be kept, but are not required to be carried in the aircraft while flying

Certified Airplanes

1. Certificate of Airworthiness
2. Certificate of Registration
3. Aircraft Operating Handbook or Flight Manual
4. Weight and Balance Report
5. Proof of Liability Insurance
6. Journey Logbook (if not intending to land at point of departure)

8. Weight and Balance Report

11. ELT – current inspection and battery

Basic Ultralight Aeroplanes
