Avro Arrow Reborn

A commemorative full-scale model of the Avro Arrow was officially unveiled on the Thanksgiving weekend at the Toronto Aerospace Museum (TAM) in Downsview Park, marking the 49 Anniversary of the rollout of the first Avro Arrow in October 1957.

It took eight years and 140 dedicated volunteers to build the full-scale model with the support of public donations and corporate sponsors.

Congratulatory speeches were made by MP Ken Dryden and MPP Monte Kwinter at the official unveiling on Sunday Oct. 8. According to TAM, the museum was packed on Sunday and Monday with more than 3,000 people showing up each day to see the Avro Arrow.

The commemorative full-scale model is on permanent display at TAM, so next time you are in Toronto go have a visit or visit www.torontoaerospacemuseum.com.
