The June issue of COPA Flight announced that the “Fly-in season is here”. On June 2nd COPA Flight 7 in Sarnia hosted its 5th Annual Fly-in Breakfast at Reeces Corners, 20 kilometres east of the Sarnia Airport (CYZR).
Fortunately for us, one plane made the trip from Komoka near London, Ont., saving the day and enabling us to officially call it a fly-in.
A total of 55 people enjoyed the delicious breakfast that Wendy and her crew from the restaurant on the airfield prepared for us. While the weather was cool enough to feel like late fall rather than spring, enough people showed up to enjoy some camaraderie.By 11 a.m. the sun shone through the clouds and warmed everyone up.
A couple of WWII vehicles were also on-site as a static display, including Walter Brand’s 1940 Ford Gun Tractor.
On behalf of COPA Flight 7 many thanks to those who came out and helped make this day a great success. See you at our Fall Fly-in at Sarnia Airport. Check the COPA calendar for the date.
