COPA active in promoting cross-border flying in British Columbia

COPA extends its hand across the border. President Kevin Psutka and COPA Flight Captain/BC Floatplane President Steve Nunn explain cross-border procedures and entice Washington State pilots to visit B.C. at the Northwest Aviation Conference, held every February in Puyallup, WA. Other BCFA helpers included Myron Olson, Dennis Popowich and Tom Godwin. Next year’s event is planned for February 21-22. Highlights of this year and a peak at next year can be found at www.washingtonaviation.org/NAC&TS.html

COPA President Kevin Psutka helped man a booth at this year’s Northwest Aviation Conference in Puyallup, Washington. We support the efforts of the BC Floatplane Association/COPA Flight who share a booth each year with the Washington Seaplane Pilots Association.
Although there were few COPA members or potential members at the show, the 1,000 or so attendees kept the booth busy with questions about flying into Canada, and it provided an excellent opportunity to seek support for our battle for access to Parks. Next year’s show will be on February 28-29.
In other news, the BCFA Safety Seminar on April 12, in Langley, B.C., is shaping up to be a good one. Kevin Psutka will be one of the speakers and Transport Canada will provide a safety awareness briefing.
Visit the COPA Web site’s On the Horizon calendar of events for more details. This will be an excellent opportunity to increase awareness regarding the BC Parks access issues.
