By Kevin Psutka, COPA’s President and CEO
Our new online version of the COPA Flight Annual is now up on our Web site:
www.copanational.org.
This one-stop source of information about flying in Canada was formerly
available in magazine format for a number of years.
However, we noticed the disadvantage of that format was some of the information
was time sensitive and could be as much as three months out of date by the time
you received the magazine.
On the other hand, our Web site, and members’ use of it, has been steadily
growing.
A recent survey of our members indicated that 92 per cent have access to the
Internet, so we decided to take advantage of this fact and transitioned the
magazine to our Web site.
We can now update information and have it available for you immediately, and we
can also incorporate information, such as clickable maps to help find a flight
school. This could never have been done before in hard copy format.
For people who need a permanent copy of some of the information, it can be
downloaded and/or printed out.
For those who do not have Internet access, they can call the COPA office for the
information and we can send a hard copy of some of the information to them if
requested.
To help with the transition from magazine format to the web site, the
information is organized on an index page similar to the magazine, and we are
entitling this section the COPA Flight Annual for this year.
I hope you enjoy the new format and find it useful for your aviation information
needs.
I welcome your comments at
editorial@copanational.org to help improve it.
