This is the year to fly Young Eagles

By Adam Hunt
As of Feb. 14, 2003, the Young Eagle’s program has flown 881,918 kids!
That is an amazing number of flights flown and young people exposed to the joys of flying.
We are very close to the goal of flying 1,000,000 young people by Dec. 17, but we still have to fly 118,082 in the remaining nine months.
There are pilots all over the world flying Young Eagles, but Canada and COPA members have done a significant part of the flying so far.
This year we just have to do a little bit more – plan to have two COPA Flight Young Eagles’ Days this spring. There are still lots of kids in Canada who haven’t flown yet. Let’s get them flying!
If your COPA Flight has flown Young Eagles in the past then now is the time to plan to fly more this year. If your COPA Flight has never flown Young Eagles, than this is the year to start!
You don’t have to be a member of a COPA Flight to fly Young Eagles. There are individual COPA members who have flown hundreds of Young Eagles – each child flown helps the cause of promoting aviation in your community.
