Toronto City Centre Airport’s existence is once again under
attack as the municipal election in Toronto heats up. At least one of the
candidates running for mayor, David Miller, is dead set on closing the airport.
Glenn Grenier, COPA Director Southern Ontario has recently sent off a letter to
all the mayoral candidates, asking them for their views regarding Toronto City
Centre Airport. Grenier asks, if elected mayor, would he/she support and take
steps to ensure the preservation and enhancement of the airport? Why or why not?
The candidates running for Toronto mayor are: Barbara Hall, Tom Jakobek, John
Tory, David Miller and John Nunziata.
Next month COPA Flight will publish the candidate’s responses. The November
newspapers should arrive in time for Toronto area members to decide on their
candidate. Responses will also be published on the COPA Web site.
