New COPA Guide to certified aircraft

In recent months COPA has added specialized COPA Guides about Ultralights, Amateur-Builts, Owner Maintenance and Limited Class aircraft.

Now COPA has just released a companion volume to these four books – the COPA Guide to Certified Aircraft.

This new COPA guide covers the world of traditional factory-built aircraft certified to government standards. This category of aircraft currently makes up the majority of aircraft in Canada.

The new guide will help anyone thinking about buying a certified aircraft, through some of the key things to know including: aircraft certification, STCs, LSTCs, ADs, annual inspections and “out-of-phase” maintenance items.

Also covered is record keeping requirements, different categories of certified aircraft, documentation required, elementary work, insurance, aircraft type clubs and many more topics!

This 45 page guide covers most of the considerations in owning one of these aircraft, with an emphasis on what you need to know about certified aircraft maintenance.

Like all 14 COPA guides presently available, The COPA Guide to Certified Aircraft is available for free to members in the “COPA members only section” of the COPA website, in three electronic formats – HTML, MS Word and Adobe Acrobat PDF format.
