Transport Canada System Safety has recently released the draft version of its newly completed five-year look at ultralight accidents in Canada.
This study looks at accidents from 1998 to 2003 and is follow-on to a previous
study that covered the five year period from 1993 to 1998.
As a next step to this new study TC will be conducting an ultralight risk
assessment to see if it is using its resources in the most effective manner to
reduce ultralight accidents. COPA will publish information on the TC Risk
Assessment when that process is complete and the document is released.
The new 38 page study is entitled Study on the Safety of Ultra-Light Aeroplanes
in Canada RDIMS # 810943.
