Astute and long-time readers of COPA Flight will recognize that every now and then short articles appear with a title that starts off with “Did You Know…About” and then tries to explain some odd CAR or other thing pilots should know about, but have likely forgotten.
These “Did You Knows” were originally conceived by now-retired COPA Publisher
Garth Wallace. He noticed that COPA members called up or wrote to COPA on a
regular basis asking interesting questions that other members might want to ask,
too, if they had thought of the question first.
As an attempt to let everyone know the question and the answer, the “Did You
Know” was born.
Since those days many, many dozens of “Did You Knows” have appeared in COPA Flight. The good news is that once the newspaper is read and recycled the “Did You Knows” live on!
As they are published in the paper they are also cached on the COPA website and
can be accessed from any page by hitting the button at the top marked “Did You
Know.”
The articles are arranged by subject and are kept up to date by regular reviews.
Next time you have an aviation question have a look through the website’s “Did
You Knows,” where many of COPA members’ questions are all safely stored.
