Correction on UL passenger carrying

The September issue of COPA Flight carried an article on page B-2 entitled At The CARAC Table which reported on the CARAC Plenary session held on May 19, 2005. In that article Transport Canada reported “that the ultralight passenger-carrying rating rules would be published in the CARs on December 1^st, 2005 and would take effect on December 31^st, 2006.”

This information has since been updated. The good news is that the regulations enabling the ultralight passenger-carrying rating should still be in place on December 1, 2005, but there will be no delay in their implementation – qualifying holders of Pilot Permits – Ultra-light Aeroplanes will be able to apply for the new rating right away.
