COPA adds AMAs

AMAs are “Airworthiness Manual Advisories” and at one time there were 13 of them attached to the old rules for building amateur-built aircraft, AWM Chapter 549. These were collected wisdom and advice from TC on some of the finer points of building amateur-builts under the Canadian rules.

Since the introduction of the exemption to Chapter 549 in the form of the new CAR Standard 507 Appendix C the old AMAs have disappeared from the TC website, even though they are still relevant as advisory material.

TC does have plans to reintroduce them as either Maintenance and Manufacturing Circulars or as advisory material in the CARs, but in the meantime they are not available on line.

To fill in this unintentional gap COPA has added these amateur-building AMAs to the new 8th Edition of The COPA Guide to Amateur-Builts.

This publication is available free to COPA members in electronic format on the COPA website or on paper for a fee to cover printing and shipping.
