Aviation Insurance,

Understanding insurance coverage available to aircraft
owners and pilots is not very difficult but every year COPA members and
others who thought they had the proper insurance coverage find out they did
not. For this reason, we will outline the types of aviation insurance
available and the insurance companies that provide these coverage in
Canada.
The coverage provided by insurance companies are similar but they are by no
means identical. Some have broader coverage than others, some are more user
friendly than others and some write directly while others use the services
of insurance brokers.
There is a list of insurance companies and brokers in the Canadian Flight
Annual. The list is for reference only and is not a recommendation by
COPA.
Some of the companies on the list have minimum premiums aimed at commercial
operators.
